Brief information about our forge at Växbo Kvarn:

The forge was built in 1848 and originally comes from Lilltjära, south of Kilafors. It has replaced a dilapidated forge that was demolished in the 1930s. The forge (which is approximately 25 m2) and its equipment are very well preserved and it is still the hand-operated bellows that provides oxygen to the hearth.

Nowadays the bellows has been replaced by an electric fan. Various tools hang on the walls but we strongly recommend that you bring your own favorite tools. A spring hammer is available and a bench with a vice. The hearth has been renovated in 2025. The floor is soft which makes it comfortable to work on for a whole day.

Please note that your booking is valid from Monday (the date you have chosen) until Sunday of the same week. If you wish to book additional weeks, you will need to make a completely new booking.
