Seated Christmas table at Växbo Krog 2025

In December (or for the first day of Advent) we light the candles, decorate the tavern and welcome you to our seated Christmas table - a real taste experience in the heart of Hälsingland.

Our restaurateur Pär has created a Christmas menu where tradition meets his own cooking philosophy. The result is a Christmas table full of small dishes – inspired by Christmas classics, but with that personal twist that makes every bite feel special. You will have the dishes served to your table, in peace and quiet, and can either try everything or return to the favorites again and again.

Here you will have time to enjoy, socialize and let the flavors brighten the winter darkness. Perfect for celebrating with family, friends or colleagues.

At Växbo Krog we let the season and the local producers' offerings guide our menu. We work closely with local farmers, growers and producers and create dishes that celebrate and promote our beautiful Hälsingland landscape. The food we serve at the tavern is rustic, genuine and innovative with a focus on pure flavors and sustainability.

A complete and updated menu is available on site, as it varies according to season.

Our restaurateur

He already knew as a young boy that he wanted to be a chef! After training and working at various star restaurants, he landed back home in Hälsingland in 2008. By taking over the newly built Växbo Krog, his dream of owning his own restaurant became a reality.

Seventeen years have passed and "I have never felt so inspired to open our doors again in 2025," are Pär's own words about this year's reopening of Växbo Krog.

Local ingredients and solid cooking are what he is most passionate about! And that, combined with simple, well-prepared and flavorful food, is what you can expect when you visit Växbo Krog.

The meeting between the genuinely classic and the new innovative creates a dining experience beyond the ordinary.

Summer food

A meal in a natural, historic setting

Enjoy a pleasant lunch/dinner in a unique and pleasant environment in a place that holds history and cultural heritage.

Indoors, the environment is decorated with inspiration from the mill's historical heritage, where you can sit both summer and winter. During the summer months, our outdoor seating is also open, where you can enjoy your meal with a relaxing view of the water and the old Mill House from the 19th century.

Växbo Krog is the perfect place to visit for a relaxed lunch or a long dinner with friends and family. We also tailor packages for larger groups and private events, upon request.
